Biblical Role of Women

When I told one of the elders at my church what I was writing it on… he told me a funny story about his son. One day when his son was in class the teacher said, “today we are going to talk about the roles of women and men” and the little boy and one of his friends blurted out “women dont have roles, they make rolls!”

In today’s quick paced culture it is easy to conform to the changing times without notice. We are a society built on recognition and success, and when these dynamics permeate into our belief system, it can be challenging to identify and evaluate the impact they have on how we live our lives. One of the largest ways these values have influenced us is in our view of the roles of men and women.

When given the assignment to interview pastors on the topic of discipleship, it took me a while to decide who I wanted to ask and what people would have good perspectives to glean from.

Authority of Scripture

Jesus Clearly Demonstrated His Belief in the Authority of Scriptures. Defend this Statement with Evidence.

Dr. David Livingston, Answers in Genesis:

“Jesus never belittled Scripture (as some modern critics do), or set it aside (as the Jewish leaders of His day had done with their Oral Traditions), or criticized it (although He criticized those who misused it), or contradicted it (although He rejected many interpretations of it), or opposed it (although He sometimes was free or interpretive with it), nor spoke in any way as ‘higher’ critics do of the Old Testament.”

Meaning and Significance of Inerrancy

Explain the meaning and significance of inerrancy

Yachts can be luxurious, but once they leave the dock, the passengers are stuck until the boat arrives at port. Though passengers may move about the boat with apparent freedom, their final destination is ultimately the will of the captain.

The topic I have drawn today is “Explain the Meaning and Significance of Inerrency” in the context of Scripture.

Why Does Man Need Salvation?

Why Does Man Need Salvation?

C.S. Lewis, Christian Reflections, Christianity and Culture: “The glory of God, and, as our only means to glorifying Him, the salvation of human souls, is the real business of life.”

Why does man need salvation?

The Incarnation

Explain the meaning and significance of the incarnation.

John Milton’s Paradise Lost, God speaking to Jesus: “Thee from my bosom, and right hand, to save, By losing thee a while, the whole Race lost. Thou therefore whom thou only canst redeem, Their Nature also to thy Nature join; and be thyself Man among men on Earth, made flesh, when time shall be, of Virgin seed, by wondrous birth.”
